The Best Software To Copy Files

We copy a lot of files from our network to external hard drives. The regular Windows XP copy command takes too long. We had tried VB script and is somehow better but not perfect. Do you know of any software that can help us to copy large ammounts of data, keep a nice a log and you can trust on it. (It would be better if it is free or not too expensive, we are a goverment office and is tough to buy expensive utilities)

Have a look at xcopy - you can do far more selective copying based on it. You'd still have to put together a vbs or cmd script to do your logging, though...
