Hello.

I have just got illustrator and cannot understand why there is a page upon an artboard. Where is the drawing supposed to go? Can I get rid of the page? Can I resize the page? I can find no answers to these questions and its really putting me off using the program because I am a traditional artist who like to start up and get going. I can't even dictate the work area setup!

Please help...

Aquatron

I'm not sure what you are reffering too...

Do you mean the inner square that appears in the main art page?

If that is what you are talking about, then that is simply your print area based upon your printers capabilities.

You may have an 8x11 page setup, but your printer can't print edge to edge, so Illustrator tells you your maximum print area by showing you a border around your artwork area.

Anything placed outside this area will not print, unless you make changes to your printer setup.

 As to your other question:

You can move that area about using the hand icon from the tool bar, you can also make hide it by selecting "Hide Page tilling" from the "View' menu.

 Is this what you wanted?

Andre Vandal
Andre Vandal
dezign@canada.com
<a href= Dezign's Sites
A bit of eveything Celestial
