Say I have taken a capture and its a 16 meg file does that mean that the amount of data that has passed is 16 megs? I think that is just the size of my sniffer capture but it is not the amount of data that has gone thru.

How can I tell the amount of data that has gone through in the capture that I have taken. Can someone give an example?

Also when analyzing a trace how is it possible to tell if there is a routing issue going on by just looking at the trace or if there is a congestion how can that be determined and is it possible to tell where the congestion is from the trace?
