It never hurts to repeat. [smile2]

I had a validation function working and tested and then realized I'd used VFP9 functionality in code that needed to run in VFP6. (Don't ask.)

I was drumming my fingers contemplating a different approach when the Google machine coughed up one of your articles on Foxite. Perfect solution!

So, thanks Mike!

You're very welcome, Dan. But, you know, I had completely forgotten I contributed that article to Foxite (I assume it was the one about unpacking comma-delimited strings?). It must have been a very long time ago. And what an ancient photo. I wish I still had that much hair.

Not so much a Google machine, more a time machine.

It's like a character from a horror movie: The Google never forgets.

Many years ago I gave an intern an assignment and her professor suggested she try that new search engine called Google.

She found the exact instructions. Written by me. In a long-forgotten CompuServe post. LOL

Dan... That dates us both. You for having used CompuServe and myself for remembering doing the same.

LOL. I had a CIS account (and used TapCIS) until the day they dropped the ASCII interface and converted to web forums.

You had TapCIS? In my young day, we had to use the command-line interface for Compuserve. I did eventually acquire DosCIM, but I jumped ship when they went to the new-fangled web system.

FWIW, CompuServe just changed their web interface again, and it looks like that (along with the fact that no one seems to post VFP questions there anymore) is the final straw for me. After about 26 years of talking about Fox on CompuServe, looks like I'm done.

Tamar, I'm amazed. I had no idea that Compuserve still existed. And even less of an idea that you were still active on it.

Maybe I should have a final look for old times sake.

Don't bother, Mike. I can't even find the right forum with the new arrangement. The bookmark I've been using for years takes me somewhere else with no hint of how to find the right forum. Since it's been pretty much dead for a year or so, not really a loss.
