I'm sure everyone (at least everyone in the US), is familiar with the the meaning of TGIF...Thank God it's Friday! I'm wondering if any TT'ers across the pond have a saying to express their elation with the end of the work week?

Also, I've heard that writing "TGIF" on your shoes help to remind you that your "Toes Go In First." Does anyone else have any creative meanings for TGIF?

Office joke around here at end of lunch time on friday when saying goodbye to table companions:

OK, one more sleep till weekend (which of course begins at 5PM on friday ;-))

Here's an idea...when you're out clubbin' with the boyz on a Friday night, you could use "TGIF" as a "21st Century Expression of Approval" towards a member of the fairer gender..."That Girl Is Fine!" [gorgeous]

As I leave work on Fridays, I like to set my colleagues in the right frame of mind by calling out:

"Goodnight everybody peeps! Only another 48 hours to Monday!"

Then I watch their expressions change from [bigsmile] to [cry] in a millisecond!

For some reason, this thread is making me think of some off-color jokes.

Too avoid offense, I'll skip the jokes and paraphrase.

In one, a person who is merrily stating "TGIF" is corrected with "Sorry, honey. It's Thursday."

In the other, TGIF is similar to the "Toes Go In First", but the "F" stands for "Front", it's a different article of clothing, and is less appropriate.
