I am having a lot of trouble saving an alpha channel in the TGA format. Every time I save (or save as) and specifically hit 32 bit TGA, the file saves, but reloads WITHOUT the alpha channel! AARGH! It just tosses it (same way Painter 6 does). Any help in this would be appreciated...

Thanks,

Daniel

Yeah, Photoshop announced that you can't use traditional alpha channels with targa. (thereby screwing everyone in the video and video games industry!) here's the article..

BUT THERE IS A FIX: Just go to your photoshop directory under c:\program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 6.0\plug-ins\file formats and copy the tga format to the same folder in your photoshop 7.0 directory. You have to either overwrite the old tga format or move the file completely out of the ..\plugins directory or you will end up with 2 versions of the TGA reader.
