I am trying to update the firmware on my digital phones, but having trouble setting up my tftp server. On this form, the Local Node Name has to be a C-Lan (TN799) card, but what can function as the TFTP server? I've tried everything, but nothing works. I have the firmware files uploaded to CLANHQ2, so I don't know why it says no file in memory.

TFTP Server Configuration

Local Node Name: ClanHQ2
TFTP Server Node Name: HQ8720a
TFTP Server Port: 69
File to Retrieve: 2420_R6.bin

File Status: No file in ACP memory
File Size: 0
Filename in Memory:

Thanks for any assistance, but type slow, I don't know much about this stuff.

Why does the light always have to be at the end of the tunnel?

Do you mean you are trying to update firmware on an IP phone?

If so I always use an external TFTP server. You can use pumpkin TFTP or the 3com daemon if you don't have another TFTP server. (google)

Point the phone to the TFTP server then re-boot the phone.

I think that's because your CLAN is checking the S8720a for the file, but you've already got it loaded on the CLAN in slot 2A04.

What happens when you punch the FAC into one of your 2400 series phones?
