I am able to copy flash from a 2505 to my tftp server, and I can copy the running-config fine from the 2501 to the same tftp server, but when I try to copy the flash, this is what I get:

Can you ping the computer that host the TFTP server? If no, are they on the same subnet/same IP rage?

rename the file on the tftp server from

rtr/c2500-js-l.113-5.T.bin

to

c2500-js-l.113-5.T.bin

then try again, by the way what OS and TFTP server are you using?

Not only can I ping the TFTP server, I have no problem copying the running-config from the same router. It is just the flash that is giving me the problem. They are all on the 192.168.1.XXX range.

I am running Solarwinds on Windows 98. I am trying to copy the flash from the router to the TFTP server. Can you rename the flash on a Cisco router? If so, what is the command? Thanks.

no you cannot rename the flash on the router (as far as i know) but you can rename it when it is destined for the tftpd server. considering that you were able to coy the running config to the tftp server already then you must have "write" permissions to the tftp default directory root. I suspect what is happening is that when you are trying to copy "rtr/c2500-js-l.113-5.T.bin" over to the server, it is looking for a "rtr" directory on the server and rtr does not exist. Try making the destination filename "c2500-js-l.113-5.T.bin" instead of "rtr/c2500-js-l.113-5.T.bin" and see what happens.

Address or name of remote host [192.168.1.100]? 192.168.1.100
Source file name? rtr/c2500-js-l.113-5.T.bin
Destination file name [rtr/c2500-js-l.113-5.T.bin]?c2500-js-l.113-5.T.bin

Worst case scenerio is that you or someone else renamed the image file to "rtr/c2500-js-l.113-5.T.bin" while it was on the tftp server and somehow managed to get that on the router as such, and now the router is looking for a "rtr" directory on itself.

Gotcha gconnect.
I will try that tonight. Thanks for the advice.
