Hello I have done the mute, up, down, up, down, mute, 9, goodbye to enter in the admin pwr(color*set) and now I am at the screen that displays:

EAP Mode: Disabled

ID1:

ID2:

Password: ****

Enable VPN:

Protocol : Avaya VPN
... etc.

I would like to know what is the next step for updating firmware using a tftp server that I installed on my PC (Solarwinds). Can anyone help please (if anyone has done this can you explain the step by step process?)

have the 1140E.cfg file and the .BIN file in your TFTP root folder,

point the phone at the TFTP ip address (i think it's the last option in the list on the phone config, )

for details look at "IP Deskphones Fundamentals Avaya Communication Server 1000" under TFTP server
