TFT screens:will any work with solaris

Hi
I'm in the market for buying a tft screen for my ultra 10.
However I do not want to spend $1500 to buy sun's own brand.
I've seen 17" TFTs got for around $800, non branded.
Would any of these work?
I'm aware that the m640 chipset only supports 8bit on tft's. But luckly my ultra 10 came with a creator3D card.

As far as i have experienced..yes as long as you have the right cables (i.e. converters)
