Is there a browser setting that determines the font displayed in a textarea or a textbox or is it an html standard. The reason I ask is that my browser is displaying a different font face in a textbox than in a textarea.

The difference in the fonts is of concern to my boss, and to my knowledge there is no way to set what font appears in your textareas and textboxes on the pages you create. So that leaves the possibility that I have changed a setting on my browser to make them appear different or they always appear different due to some kind of html standard.

(I just tried changing the font settings in my browser so that all text is the same font and I still have a difference between text areas and textboxes)

Does anyone know anything about this topic I would definitely appreciate any information you can provide.

Which browser are you using? In at least some versions of netscape, the font face and size in elements like text areas and text boxes is determined by the current setting (if any) specified in the last <font> tag. However, selecting 'use my default fonts, overriding document-specific fonts' in Edit->Preferences eliminates this behavior (at least it does in v4.73).

In any case, try looking for any open font tags before the textbox in question and close them.

Thanks a bunch, I will check although I don't think I have any font tags in the area I have the textboxes and textareas, but I will check.
