Is there any way in a textarea to get part of the text inside to be bold, underlined, etc.? Lets say you have a textarea with the value of:

This is underlined. This is not.

Is there any way to make the "This is underlined" underlined, and keep the "This is not" from becoming underlined? Thanks.
 
You cannot do that. Either everything has the effect, or nothing does. However, there are DHTML alternatives to using a textarea. It doesn't look quite the same, and it doesn't work the same, either, but it will give the effect desired. Try looking in either or

hmm.... How can you do it with DHTML? I looked on Dynamic Drive, but I couldn't find anything. Could you give me a direct link or something? Thanks.
