Hi, there

Is that true that the text symbol under mask must be broken apart? Otherwise it doesn't show up? I just had this problem..and I am seeking for the answers to it...What happens is that I created a mask over the several texts (graphic symbols). And it didn't show until I broke the text apart...

If convenient, please go to

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers

Didn't check your file yet, but usually when tweening or masking dynamic text the font must be embedded. Regards,

Hi!![smarty]

You are really working around the clock! :) Good that you won't leave within a week....

When you say the font must be embedded...what exactly do I need to do ? And my text is just static text with a bit motion tweening...Is that the reason?

Many thanks!!!

Jenny

Let me check your file!

But when the text is dynamic, all you have to do to embed the font, is simply to select the textfield, hit the Character tab in the textfield's properties and select Embed All...

This will increase you file's size by 15-30kb per font embedded though. Regards,

Oh..that's very good to know...since I have a lot of text under the mask...Maybe it would be a good idea to use dynamic text instead of static....

Best wishes.

Just checked your file, and your problem is caused by the use of the device font _sans.

Flash automatically embed the outlines of most fonts when the text is static, except if you use device fonts. If you change the font of one of your textfields to "Arial" or another non-device fonts, and leave it to "static, then it will work.

If your text should ever be dynamic (you want to change it at some point in the movie), then you have to manually embed the font yourself, as described in my other post. Flash does not embed it automatically in the case of dynamic text. Regards,

Thank you so much!!!

I've printed out all the helpful tips from you for further reference....I guess there is a long way for me to go in Flash..

Have a wonderful day!
