i have one scene with multiple frames. i had setup text scrolling for frame 5 and it work just fine, able to scroll up/down. move to frame 7 and setup text scrolling again with different text but the scrolling is not working. am i missing something in frame 7. i did both frames exactly the same way.

thanks in advance.

Are the textfields you are trying to scroll different variable names? For example: Frame5Text.scroll++, Frame7Text++

Also, if the text fields are inside a movie clip and your buttons are on scene 1, you might need to specify the instance name of the movie clip, i.e. MyInstance.Frame7.scroll++;

Hope that helps.

when i do a test movie and use debug to list the variables under frame 5 and 7 the variables are the sames.

yes, the text field is inside a movie clip.

If you want to email a copy of your movie to me at kgm@thepreferredgroup.com, I could take a look at it...

A copy of the movie won't help you!
You need to look at the .fla!

Well, when I said "movie" I meant the .fla! ;)

Figured! But, using .fla instead of movie might save you from 2 extra e-mails!
