Text quality with smaller text in PSP

I am using PSP Pro Photo XI.

Is there any way to improve the quality of sharp-aliased text in fonts under 14px? I swear, there have been times when I wanted to add text to an image where I'd get crisper results coding the text into an html page and taking a screenshot from which I'd crop out the necessary text!

How are you adding the text?

I suggest you add the text as a Vector in a new layer over your image. You can then play around with its properties. For very small text you can remover the border and just have a fill color. It should then look nice sharp.
