Text on a path problem

Hi! I am using After effects 7

I have created a simple textlayer, and a simple path to it. But when I, in the "path options" to the textlayer, set that the path should be mask 1, the text lines up under the path, and not over it. I want the text to be over the path. What shall I do.

There are a few things that may be happening here.

1. The position value of the text is set to a negative value (-Y)

CORRECTION: change the value of the position animation to zero.

2. The baseline of the font was created at a high value.

CORRECTION: change the value of the baseline jump (in the type menu pane) to a negative value.

3. Application error / OS error.

CORRECTION: unknown. Restarting the application or the OS may correct this.
