Using Crystal Reports 2011 (version 14 when I look in "help/about") changed from CR 8 recently.

When I create a text box, the height matches the font size. But when I increase the font size, the text object height does not change and only the top of the text shows. This is the same as it was in CR 8. However, in CR 2008, I would change the properties of the text object to "can grow" and the object size would change when the font size was changed. This does not seem to be working in CR 2011. I changed the properties to "can grow" but the text object height does not change when I change the font size.

What am I missing here? CR 2011 can't require that I manually change the text box size every time that I change the font size. That would be crazy.

Appreciate any tips!

In all the years I have been using CR, I have always had to change the text box size when I increased the font size or the characters would be cut off. I always considered it a nuisance. Of course if I am changing the font on several text boxes. I can change the height of all at them at the same time.

Well, you're feeling my pain. It is a nuisance! CR8 would size as I mentioned above after "can grow" was checked. (I see that I accidentally typed "CR 2008" once in my original post).

I hope that somebody else has some input that will help both of us.

Thanks for your reply kray4660.

When you increase the font size, and have "Can Grow"turned on, the text object does not increase in size in the Design tab, but it should in the preview tab.
To get it to increase to the correct height in the design tab, double-click the text object while in the Design tab.
