Does anyone know of a command to text message someone from a cisco router that you're logged onto. Bascally send message from your cisco router to someone logged on to another cisco router?

SNMP might work. If you setup SNMP debugging on your router, and then sent a SNMP message. Kinda weird though, what are you trying to accomplish?

the command to use is "send"

router#send ?
* All tty lines
<0-70> Send a message to a specific line
aux Auxiliary line
console Primary terminal line
tty Terminal controller
vty Virtual terminal
x/y Slot/Port for Modems

Good luck!!!

What you are looking to do is not allowed and the send command is only local.

You would have to telnet to the router the other person is log into and use send.

Unfortunately this is not allowed, but this why there is email. [bigears]
