I've read several tutorials and forum answers regarding getting type to flip to the inside, bottom of a circle path (readable), and all of them refer to switching to the black selection tool and dragging either the text "I-beam" or some other text "handle" into the center of the circle. In my version of Illustrator 9, when I switch from typing the text on the circle path to the selection tool, the text "I-beam" disappears. Do I have some setting wrong in the program that makes the "I-beam" disappear? And actually, when I refer to the text "I-beam," on my screen it is actually just a blinking cursor just like the one leading what I'm typing in this post, not like the "I" shown in the tutorial's illustrations. There must be an easy solution, I just can't seem to find it. Help, please.
