I have a user who when trying to open ascii/text files in excel gets a message that states the file is either read only or that they do not have rights to view the file. They can however browse to this file and it opens just fine with notepad or any other text editor. When I try to open these files from my machine (or any one elses for that matter) using excel, a text import wizard" dialog box pops up asking me how I would like to import this file into excel. We are using office 97 and the installs were performed using a custom install with the select all button chosen to select all components during installation. If any one has any ideas please let me know.
