text frames in master pages? 1

hi all. new here.
i have a question regarding text frames in master pages. i have an "a master" that consists of two facing pages. i inserted a text frame into the two facing pages so that the frames appear in all of my pages. however, i cant seem to "activate" the the text frames within these pages. basically, i want to have the text frames in my pages so that i can just "copy/paste" from another document. it seems though, that i have to create a text frame in every page in order to paste text into it - which defeats the point of making them in the master pages.
i hope that this makes sense and that someone can tell me what i`m doing wrong.

Did you use the text tool to create the text frame? Don't use the 'rectangle tool' because that is not the same as a text frame.

When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.

Also.. to 'activate' the text frame, click CTRL + Shift (Command + Shift on a Mac) as you click on the frame so that you can type into it or paste into it.

thanx guys ive got it sorted now.
im doing a course in indesign, but the lessons arent that detailed. i`ll probably appear here again sooner or later asking some other question (if you guys`n gals dont mind!)

Here's a quick master text frame tip: if you've got multiple linked frames on a master (like two columns, for example), group them on the master. Then, when you cmd/ctrl+shift+click on the doc page, you don't break the links by selecting them. If you don't group them, selecting just one on the document page severs the link.
