I lay local newspaper and anytime i create a new text frame or directly paste some text, Indesign automatically gives me text frame with 4 columns. Even resaving keeps it so and i make new document from the old one, since it has all styles.
Its anoying, since i have to fix text frame options manually for every non 4 columned text object.
Anyone has an idea what set this parameter and where to change/fix it?
Thank you very much!

See that you don't have anything selected in that document.

Go to your object menu and choose text frame options.

probably there you will see that colums is set to 4, reset to 1.

Normally everything should work as before.

What happened is that you selected the column setting with no text frame selected and changed it to 4, now InDesign thinks that this is the way that you want all your text frames to behave.

good luck

Thank you very much, the trick with unasigned text frame options works. Who would tought ...

To switch quicly betwee columnsettings you could create different object styles.

Create a text frame, create a two column version and create an object style. Do that for different columnsettings and it is easy to switchbetwee them.

good luck

You are absolutelly right, i have paragraph styles on my documents, but left text objects to manual seting.
