Text flowing to master pages instead of regular pages

The question is this, How do we avoid text from flowing onto the master page?

The master page is NOT selected, we can't find this "master text frame options" someone else suggested and it happens with existing as well as new documents. This problem seems to be indiscrimanant. Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, how did you fix it? OR Is it a bug?

Master Text Frame in on the New Document setup window - to the right of the # of pages.

If you are not using a Master in a document, but one shows on your pages pallette, select all pages/spreads and click the triangle at top of pages palettes. Select "overide all master page items. Also click on the None on the master part of the Pages window.
