Text File to SQL Table

How do i Bulk Insert a text file of Fixed Field length, no delimeters, to an sql table? need it very badly. TIA.

Hiya,

You need to construct a format file that will tell SQL Server where to find each data piece.

It may be worth trying to search for format files under the FAQ section, or try looking on the internet.

I don't know how different it is, but Sybase have a very good section on BCP format files if Microsoft don't.

If you are running SQL Server 7 or above and unfamiliar with BCP then use DTS.
