Hi there,

We have CE 10 (on a Unix platform) reporting from an Oracle 9i DB using the Native Oracle driver (CE doesn't support ODBC on Unix). If I schedule reports to output as Crystal Reports, or Excel files, the date format appears as DD/MM/YY, which is correct - for Australia! However, when I schedule to output as a Delimited Text File, the dates appear as MM/DD/YY. If I test all 3 formats using just Crystal Reports v10, they all appear correctly as DD/MM/YY.

Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

Many thanks
Mike

Does sound buggy...

You might try explicitly setting the format of the date field if it's currently just using the default.

If that fails, use:

totext({table.date},"dd/MM/yy")

-k

What is your UNIX locale set to? - Type locale[/d] at the command prompt. Sounds like the format is being picked up on the server-side, where as when you view in Excel etc it is formatted client-side (maybe?). I agree that forcing the format in the report might be the safest option (if you can).

Also, you may have been given some bad information, CE does support ODBC on UNIX. I've used it many times.

Specifically setting the date format in the report seems to do the trick.

Many thanks!
