Text field not holding alot of text??

Hi all,

i have a text field (story - Text - 16) and i want place some HTML/Text news stories in it. I try and type my story in but then it doesnt allow me to place anymore text in. The text i have is as follow:

i am not an expert of SQL Server, but i thought Text was large!? is there anything i am doing wrong??

How are you trying to put the text into the field?
If through enterprise manager then you won't get much in.
Through query analyser it should be OK.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
DTS can be used in a similar way.
Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy.

Oh ok, i was using Enterprise manager. Why wont it allow me to put much in?? it is only for testing purposes?

It's not really a data entry tool (or anything maybe).
It's just there to make life easier in some instances.

Most experienced people don't use it very much (as you'll discover) - partly because in older versions it wasn't much use at all.

cool thanks nigel! will take that on board. Comming from an MS Access level i am used to GUI to design tables and things, i am sure i will get there in the end
