Text field is displaying <div> & nbsp in large text fields

I just rolled out a new application to the first user to start testing etc....I went in to look at her data entry items
and i noticed some of the note fields (which are big text boxes) are displaying some HTML tags like <div> & nbsp
stuff like that. It does'nt do it on my pc...can someone explain to me what's going on....thanks
And how can I stop it.... thx
