TEXT FIELD - cannot save new fields

I have created a document file in PDF. This field had interactive text fields that I created by using the Text Field Tool. When I went back to the old file, opened it up and changed the security settings to allow everything before saving or making changes, I could not get the newly added Text Fields to show up and use. When I clicked on the Highlight Field, the old fields are showing but not the new ones that I created on the same page. Can you tell me please why this is happening and how I can add additional text fields and make them show up and usable after saving?? Thanks for any help
