I am using CR 8.5 with the Database and Export patch that was released in December of 2001. I have one field that is defined as Text with 241-character max (using a Microsoft Access 2000 database). However, I cannot browse this field in the formula editor. It seems like this field is being treated as a memo field through Crystal. I can clearly see that the developer defined this as a text field. I have no idea why Crystal is viewing this as a memo.

Has anyone seen this behavior in Crystal 8.5 concerning fields defined as text?

Thanks ahead of time...

I just tried using both ODBC and Direct and it showed a freshly created 241 text field available to formulas.

Perhaps you should try a more recent patch (they're available monthly), and perhaps trying ODBC vs. direct, or vice versa.
