I am posting a new portfolio website and have my resume listed. Its a lot of Text and fills the stage.

I want to text to fit with my other animations and come onto the stage smoothly, however, when I turned my text blocks into graphics and fade them the frame rate plumets to 1 or 2 frames a second.

I have tried breaking the text apart and fading via a shape tween, but my frame rate drops with this method also.

Is there anyway around this? Can I use a mask layer and have it fade? Has anyone else ever had this problem? Does anyone have any solutions?

thanks in advance.

Put the text in a movie clip, embed the font if you're using dynamic text, and fade (alpha tween) the movie clip.

That is what I have done. That is where the slow down is occurring. And it slows not only itself, but the other movie clip present on the stage.
