Text Edit Software

I need some recommendations for some good text editing software... I want color coding for as many languages as possible... I like BBedit but am on a windows system and I like SciTE|Flash but want something that allows for more languages...

any thoughts?

Both of these editors allow for syntax templates to be downloaded and added, so if it don't highlight MYSQL files, i just get a syntax files for it at the relivant site.

I use TextPad for ALL my scripting. I had a programmer friend recommend it to me, and I was thrilled. I then went on to recommend it to other programmers, and they were thrilled. You can get a free trial (that never expires) from

They also have numerous add-on downloads, including color-coding scripts for additional languages.
