I am trying to import an excel file into our accounting package and it wants it to be a string. If the account number does not have the non printing character (') with the number it stops and will not go any further. What I need to do is to have each entry in one column include the ' character with the text in it. I have tried concatenate and format but it doesn't give me the desired results. Is there a way to have a formula or other method to do this for me. Here is an example of what I am doing.

ACCTID
10000000 needs to be '100000000 and the ' does not print out.

Thank you in advance

In Excel, placing an apostrophe at the beginning of a cell tells Excel that what follows is a string. So
[tab]'100000000
is displayed by Excel as the STRING (not number) 100000000

To force the apostrophe to actually display, use one apostrophe to tell Excel that what follows is a string, then use another to be displayed, like this:
[tab]''100000000

[tt]_____
[blue]-John[/blue][/tt]
[tab][red]The plural of anecdote is not data[/red]
