Text boxes: Importing from Powerpoint as .emf file problem

I am importing a slide from Powerpoint into Illustrator 10 (PC) as an Enhanced Meta File (.emf), which works fine. The problem occurs with text boxes in the file, which contain multiple lines of text. In Illustrator, they appear as seperate lines when I ungroup the shape after importing. Even when I group them, they still move & are transformed 'seperately', as opposed to behaving like a multi-line text box created in illustrator itself. Is there any way to 'transform' them so they behave as if they were native to Illustrator, or should I perhaps import them in another way?

Many thanks in advance..

A work around would be to copy the text directly out of powerpoint and paste into Illustrator once you have the font size set up.
I have encountered your problem also, and it is tedious. I usually just get rid of all of the segmented text except for the beginning 'piece' of it and copy in the full text from Powerpoint or whatever source.
