Can I use a Select Query as the control source for a text box? If so what is the syntax? I tried:
Code:
=(Select blah, blah, blah;)
This does not work. Currently I am using Dlookup as the control source but I assume a Select Query would be faster. The report generates about 4200 of the Dlookup text boxes.

YOu can't use a SQL statement as the control source of a text box. I would have to think there is a better method than 4200 Dlookup()s. Maybe someone could help if you provided some additional information.

This program prints out employee schedules for a 2 week period. The headings across the top are 14 dates. For each employee on each date there are two text boxes on top of each other. The top box Dlookup's "Status" which is either "On Duty" or "RDO" (Regular Day Off). The bottom box Dlookup's "Trump" which is something like AL (Annual Leave), SL (Sick Leave), TDY (Temporary Duty), etc.

Is their a better way to handle this than Dlookup. A Pivot table doesn't work for reasons thoroughly chewed over in an earlier question.

I think you can do this with one or more of the solutions at You will find calendar reports as well as crosstab reports.
