Text and values in one cell

Hello All!!!

I have a spreadsheet which contains information from other, separate, workbooks (with links).

When I use the following formula

="Afternoon Visits: "&TEXT('[salesmen-calls.xls]MAR'!$G$30;"0%")

I take this result:
Afternoon Visits: 28%

Is there a way to have the value written in bold?

Afternoon Visits: 28%

OR in color?

Afternoon Visits: 28%

Not in an expression, AFAIK.

This could be done with a macro. If you want to pursue a code approch, please post in Forum707. Turn on your macro recorder and record copying the cell with the expression, Edit/Paste Special - VALUES, and formatting the string as desired. Post with your recorded code.

The basic issue is that you cannot have multiple fonts within a cell that has a formula. You can set the font colours in code but even then, as far as I know, you have to get rid fo the formula 1st.

Unless you really need it all in the same cell, I'd suggest just using two different cells. One with the text, the other with the calculated value formatted as you want.

Much easier, especially if you aren't familiar with macros.
