Help!
I am trying in vain to get the type tool to wrap text along the edge of a circle in Illustrator 10. I seem to recall that it was pretty easy to do in previous versions of Illustrator but I cannot seem to make it work even with the "Path Type Tool".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

ccwebb,

I believe in that past the way I went about adding text to a circle path in AI10 was to add a point to the path (or 2) and delete a small segment of the path between the points and then add text from there. This should work, thought there may be a better way.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the information. I tired it but couldn't get it to work. Maybe approach is wrong. Just to clarify how I'm attempting this, I am creating a circle then trying to get the Type Tool to recognizes the edge of the circle as a path on which to place type. In the end I only want the type arranged in the arc of the circle and not the circle itself.
Thanks Again!

...I meant to say:

"Maybe MY approach is wrong."

Bad typer, sorry!

Ok, Since I use CS currently and my version of 10 is gathering dust somewhere - Can you tell me if your text tool expands when you click on it? If it does, then select the "type on a path tool" that should solve your issue. It that tool doesn't exist - make sure your circle path doesn't have a fill. - This should work. If not I will crack open my AI10 and double check.
