Text all colours of the rainbow?

Hi Folks

I have a vista machine that has now got the text on the desktop and menu's multicolour not sure what the user has done any advice greatly recieved.

There may be a problem with the installed video driver. Check with the video adapter manufacturer for a possible video driver update.

Can you check out another Monitor. Is it an older type Monitor?

Try Safe Mode, or Normal Mode but as a different User.

See if System Restore will get you back to a restore point before your problem with Explorer.

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right-click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking. Select both boxes.

I've seen this with ClearType turned on for an LCD that is being run at non-native resolution. I suppose a CRT might do the same in some cases. Using ClearType Tuner might help some... assuming this is actually what your description refers to.
