Testing TTR's

Does anyone have the procedure for testing TTR's? I think that may be the issue with my other problems, but i have misplaced my notes on testing them.

from a single line port, dial *04, 01-xx, 123456789*0#

you should hear a studder dialtone if ok or busy if in use or beyond actual TTR #'s
