Testing the SMDR port

We have a remote site that we've been trying to install a Call Accounting device onto the SMDR port. We've tried everything from changing the baud rate to changing the individual cables but there is no apparent data flow.

What is the baud rate of that port? Anything else I might try to solve this problem?

Baud rate is 1200, 8-N-1. Are you using an 8-conductor straight through cable and an Avaya 355 adapter?
