Do any of you aspect scripting pro's have any idea for the best and simple way to test for network connectivity within an aspect script?

Ultimately if i can ping a certain IP address, then that's all the testing I need to do.

I was thinking that I could see if an ftp connection to an the server ( at the Ip address that i would have pinged) was successful to test for connectivity. However, I thought that you pro's might have a more effective solution.

any thoughts on this is appreciated,

I think if you look through the past posts, someone had a script that would FTP somewhere, transfer a file, and compute the average throughput. Other than that, there isn't real much you can do in ASPECT except run ping in DOS window and similar tasks.
