I am attempting to install SMS and my MP installs correctly, but when I run the MP troubleshooter i get the following errors..I would appreciate any assistance on this..

<Name xmlns="Testing MPLIST HTTP request functionality">
- <Result xmlns="Failed">
<Comment xmlns="Failed to query web site: (Exception: The remote server returned an error: (400) Bad Request.)" />
</Result>
</Name>
</Test>
- <Test>
- <Name xmlns="Testing MPCERT HTTP request functionality">
- <Result xmlns="Failed">
<Comment xmlns="Failed to query web site: />
</Result>
</Name>
</Test>

Run mp.msi from the c:\sms\i386\bin folder and then run the MP troubleshooting utility.

Thanks for the info, ran the msi and then rebooted and ran the mp troubleshooter and received the same error message..so no joy..any other possibilities..

Thanks

Not sure then. You may try reinstalling the reporting/management point.

I had those same errors when I ran the troubleshooter, so I ran mp.msi and it corrected the errors.

What do you see when you browse to these two pages from a your SMS server or a client machine into a web browser?

Can you browse the website through IIS?

Whwn I attempt to browse..it indicates teh erl could not be retrieved...i navigate through IIS and the the SMS_MP folders have been created but the remaining pieces of the lines do not exist within the folders..ergo(.sms_aut?MPCERT,.sms_aut?MPLIST
) these items do not exist within the folder...how can they be created....and I have run the MP.msi toll a couple of times and still with no joy...

At this point I would check your MPsetup.log for any error messages. Can be found on c:\SMS\logs\mpsetup.log

If something looks amiss there then I would uninstall IIS, uninstall the MP/reporting points. Then reinstall IIS, reinstall MP, then reintsall the reporting point, in that order.

Can you check the IIS logs for any additional information? This will also show you if your request is even reaching IIS.
