I'm wondering if there's a way to build tester to check out motherboards before they are installed in the case?
Because I have several boards and don't have the time to install each and everyone .
You could use and old modified case as a tester. Leave the power supply, and drives in it, modify the door side frame a bit for easier access, put male thread standoffs for the MOBO mounts, and voila. Any other tester you could get would still need these basic items in order to test it all, and chances are you have the things i mentioned there laying around in the form of an old computer already. Good luck, and Happy Computing
also if your just testing the motherboard a good strong piece of cardboard or wood that is non conductive or even take a staic bag that a MB came in and secure it to a board will work
Usually the box the motherboard comes in works fine (just check it does'nt have any metalic stickers or packaging) Place the motherboard on the edge of the box to allow the locating ends of any cards fitted to hang over the edge.
Fit memory, CPU with heatsink/fan, graphics card (if not onboard) and main power plug from PSU to test.
