testing electrect transmitter

Im trying to test a electrect trnsmiter element for a gate access system

I hooked it up in series with my buttset using my tone generator for talk battery

I get talk battery thru to my buttset but no transmit on the electet element

i have tried it with three diffrent elemnts with the same result so I think my testing method is flawed

it calls for 2-10vdc so I should be ok there

Hey skip555, maybe a problem with the board? Try a regular carbon transmitter at the gate to see if it works, if it does, maybe you could order a new eletret. Check Allen Tel.

I shoud have been more specfic

I have two new electrets Im trying to verify that at least one works before I go back to the site.

not a bad idea with the carbon transmiter I can take a 2500 handset with me and rig it in to check the board
