Is there a way to test DID or TIE trunks other than busying them out and checking them one at a time? I test my COT trunks using the LD 36 CALL and TRK commands, and I was hopeful that there might be an easier way to test the other types of trunks. Thanks for any assistance.

You can use your maintenance phone, direct access through the keypad, assuming you are at the site where you want to perform the test. This will only be the case if your DID trunks are bothway. If they are inbound only, call your local LEC and see if they have assined plant test numbers for each trunk. Using plant test numbers will test total functionality of the circuit. If there are none available, it is time to get out the butt set.

Concerning the Tie lines, you can only test in one direction from the near end switch.

Maybe someone else knows of some other tricks.

CHANGE PROMPT SRCH TO RRB IN THE TIE LINE RDB, EVERYTIME YOU DIAL OUT YOU WILL HIT A DIFFERENT TRUNK UNTIL YOU COME BACK TO THE START. AS FAR AS TESTING DID,I DON'T UNLESS I GET A TROUBLE REPORT REFERENCING THEM. THE EASIEST THING TO DO WITH THEM IS GO TO LD 36 AND DO A LDIC PLUS CUSTOMER NUMBER AND ROUTE NUMBER. THIS WILL PRINT ALL THE DID'S PLUS THE AMOUNT OF DAYS WITH RECEIVING A CALL. I CHECK THIS ONCE A WEEK
