Asked this on the rem.access forum without any feedback, Any of you got a solution?

I'm not quite sure about what you asking, but if your question is whether you can bring the ISDN connection up whilst the lease line is up, the answer is yes, there are 2 ways that I know of you can achieve this

1 you can get some of your users to route through the ISDN, so whenever one of them wants to access the other network or the internet that would use the dialer and bring up the ISDN line and route through it.

2 You can set up your serial interface to use the ISDN as BOD (bandwidth on demand), in this scenario you would set you Serial interface to use lets say BRI0 to come up when 90% of the lease line is utilised

Hope that helps :)

Don't be content with being average. Average is as close to the bottom as it is to the top

I thought of using BOD, but we don't want to have BOD on all the time (saving pennies), and I don't want to have to configure it for all the sites just to test them, then take BOD off again...
I have heard rumours that there is a third party software package that you can set to bring up ISDN lines at set times in order to test them, then does a report. Apparently it works by pinging the dialer IP addr. ?
Ring any bells with anyone?
