Testing connectivity

Hi,

Hope I'm in the right forum. If not, please direct me to the right one.

I'm setting up an application on a client machine and I need to make sure that'll be able to access the SQL server when it's connected by VPN.

Is there something out there that would allow me to test if the computer can speak with the SQL server ?

Hi, configure a data source name (DNS) in your control panel (data source)then hit "test connection".
* This is the most simple way I know to do this.
