I'm trying to create a Budget report in Crystal Reports 8.5 against a SQL server database.

GH1(Subfund) & GH2(Dept) are displayed in the page header so they are suppressed in the report.

My problem: Since GH3 is stated in the page header, I want GH3 to be suppressed when it's the first instance on a new page.

How do I accomplish this?

But what if the GH3 header on the first page is not CHARACTER: 01 PERSONAL SERVICES ?

you could change your approach and have the result you want

create another section on your GH3

place the Field headers on the second section and the Group field value on the first.


create two formulas

Formula 1 @SuppressorReset
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar suppressor:=0
to be placed on the page header make it invisible

Formula 2 @Suppressor
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar suppressor:=suppressor+1
to be placed on the group header in your case GH3 make this invisible too.

then on section expert
go to group header 3 second section click X-2 the button on the seppress option
and add the following code

whileprintingrecords;
numbervar suppressor > 1

Create two formulas:

//{@reset} to be placed in the PAGE FOOTER:
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar linecnt := 0;

//{@linecnt} to be placed in the GH#3:
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar linecnt := linecnt + 1;

Then go to the section expert->GH#3->suppress->x+2 and enter:

{@linecnt} = 1

This will suppress the first instance of the GH#3 header on the page, so you should have "Keep group together" set, so that the page always starts with GH#3.

Didn't see your post MisterMo. When I tested this in CR XI though, the reset needed to be in the page footer.

Is a slight different approach so the reset is on the top and I am not suppressing the group, just one section.
