Test Movie different to scene

Hi,

I'm new to Flash MX and have just tried to produce a simple graphic of white text coming into view against a red and black rotating background. Scene1 on the stage works fine but test movie plays without the subtelties of the text appearing gradually (using the transparency feature)- it's there permanently solid and the last two letters of the text are cut off as the text has grown wider in the test movie. When I publish I get the same results. So how do I get the test movie to play like my scene1. Any help for a novice here would be much appreciated.

Forget it. I've just noticed someone has posted the same problem today. Sods law. I checked earlier then didn't bother when I came back to enter my question. Hopefully I didn't bother anyone.
