i've added a loading screen to my swf. how can i fake low bandwidth to test it?

i seem to remember such an option in flash 5, but i'm using mx 2004 now and i can't find it (maybe it's just me).

Don't know about 2004 but in MX, you can set it under Debug while in testing mode.

does anyone here know how?

no worries, found it. it was under view in the test window.

i tend not to use the official forums mr newbie. i generally find the questions asked to questions answered ratio to be too poor.

Though you wanted to set the "faked" bandwidth to a lower setting, not simply looking for the "Show Streaming" feature... mr programmer! [bigglasses]

it's not the streaming graph i've switched on, it's 'simulate download'. that's what the simulate download does - it simulates downloading.

You used to be really helpful. Why did you turn into an arsehole all of a sudden?

Why have you?

All I'm saying is that what you're referring to is called "Show Streaming" (under View as it was in Flash 5), and nothing like "simulate download" can be found in MX or Flash 5. Didn't say anything about the "Bandwidth Profiler" if that's what you thought I was referring to!

So the "if you say so!", since I'm not on MX2004, simply ment "guess I have to believe you!"... Eventhough I doubt MM would have used the terms "simulate download" in MX2004's View menu.

doubt it all you want. if you ever get hold of flash mx2004 go to 'control > test movie' then look on the 'view' menu. 'simulate download' is as plain as day.

don't call me mr programmer again. it comes across as having sarcastic undertones when used by a technical user in a flash forum.

And I gather the above wasn't sarcastic!

Don't worry I won't call you "mr. programmer" again, I won't be replying to your future threads.

oldnewbie is your handle. it wasn't a reference to your ability. the equivelent would be to call me mr bo.
