We have a leased VLAN through the Utility District and our connection seems slow. Its a 10mb connection. I want to test the connection, but I dont know of a good test tool. Any ideas? Something more than a basic extended ping test. Thanks

I have used an utility called "TTCP" for linux/unix and "pcattcp.exe" for windows. This tool will work in UDP/TCP mode. The data generated is random data generated by the tool and will be sent at wire rate. Make sure that you aren't running this tool during your primte time as you can conjest the network.
